Born in 1956, he received his Diploma in Fine Arts from Indore. He has held many solo exhibitions of his works since 1976 across India and has also participated in group exhibitions nationally and internationally like the one held at Asian Arts Center, USA, 1997, Confluence –II, Indo – Nepalese artists, at Bhopal, Delhi, Kathmandu, 1999, Anandi, Lalit Kala Akadamie, Delhi, 2001, Tao art Gallery, Mumbai, 2002. Akhilesh has also received the Bharat Bhavan Biennale award , Bhopal, 1990, Government of India senior artist fellowship, 1994-95 and the Raza foundation award in 2002.
The artist lives and works in Bhopal. |
